Salmon Report - Siltcoos Lake November 23 - 30
YES the fish are still biting. Seen most of the action on Green Spinners and Wiggle warts. Fish are tending to hang around the weeds during the day and moving more in the late morning and evening. The Fish I have seen this week are bright and the color is great. Fishing is still a little slow at times. A few Jacks are starting to show up. There are still many Salmon coming through the lake. Just need to get the Salmon and Fisherman to hook up together. You can see the fish boiling and jumping around you and it is now up to to you to find what they want to bite at. Blue fox lures have been doing very well. The rains have caused the lake to rise quite a bit, the water level is still about even with summer normal lake average and the water is very clear. And more rain is in the forecast.
People are still marking many fish alone the edges of the lake at times and catching fish on both Fiddle Creek and Maple Creek arms. Have seen some caught right in front of Ada Resort also (Between Ada Resort and the Train Trestle). Some days are slower than others. Sea Run Trout have been doing very well, both on worms and trolling. Reports are the Dam has been opened quite a few times and should continue to be open at various times as the rains continue. Looks like now though the end of the season December 31st will be a great time for fishing.
Come on out !!!
Do remember Siltcoos lake is open Year round for Trout fishing. Pick a nice day or weekend and come out in the New Year and fish. Cabins are warm.

The Coho Silver Salmon comes from the ocean through a small fish ladder into the lake. We have only Native Fish (no fin clip) and the limit is up to One adult (over 20 inches) and one Jack per day with a season limit of 5 adult for this lake.
Trolling is great using Wiggle Warts (Hot Tiger), Kwik Fish (Silver) and Lures. The BlueFox lure Chartreuse (Pale green or Yellow) has given good results last week.
Do not have a boat? When the fish are running it is very possible to catch fish casting out from our docks.
